About David

After he completed his Building Apprenticeship so to become a qualified Carpenter. He worked within the building industry for a while before moving into the corporate world and then returned so to start his own building business in 1996. Since then he has completed many new home/house and renovation building projects. During this time he was one of the original board members for Certified Builders NZ Association, he was one of the first appointed assessors for the LBP (Licensed Building Practitioners) scheme where has was responsible to assess those who applied to be licensed.

Not stopping there David has gained his certificate in Building Control which means he may work within the building consent process and building inspection side of any New Zealand Council and has been a member of the Building Officials Institute of New Zealand since 2010.

On top of all his knowledge of the New Zealand building industry and it’s regulations, David is giving back to the New Zealand community and became an Honoury Fishery Officer back in 2016 which he enjoys a great deal and as he sees it, it’s about educating so that our fish stocks are sustainable for the generations ahead of us.

He also enjoyed is 12 years plus as a Rugby League Referee.
